u.select Hosted Migration Plan for existing u.select Schools

Here's the Step by Step plan existing u.select sites will follow when migrating to the hosted u.select site:

1. Review FAQ Sheet provided by redLantern
2. Schedule call to discuss hosted option/questions with redLantern
3. Review new subscription agreement prior to call with redLantern
4. DARwin schools should review u.select Connector document prior to call
5. Have call with redLantern
6. redLantern will make assessment on how long migration of data will take
7. Sign new hosting/subscription agreement
8. Agree on data migration date with redLantern
9. Install u.select Connector (formerly CEGXML) on campus (if needed)
10. Data migration from school's u.select server to hosted u.select

   a. School doesn't make changes to u.select school data (programs, questions, courses and messages) after noon on the business day prior to the migration
   b. After noon the business day prior to the migration, redLantern exports school data from school's u.select server and imports the data into hosted u.select server
   c. On the morning of migration day, redLantern disables user login capability on the school's u.select server
   d. On the morning of migration day, redLantern exports user data from school's u.select server and imports the data into hosted u.select server
   e. redLantern and school test all u.select functions once data migration is complete
   f. redLantern re-enables user login capability on the school's u.select server (important to avoid DNS propagation issues)
   g. redLantern changes school's transfer.org domain name (doesn't have to be migration day) to reference the hosed u.select site www.transfer.org

11. Develop/Review current maintenance plan for u.select data
12. Watch for communication of bug fixes/releases/patches that will be sent for hosted u.select
