No DA Program Setup

To setup your programs within u.select you must do the following:

Add your Programs

When adding your programs to u.select, you will first want to know how you want to organize them. You may simply list all of the programs you have available, or you may sort them into categories. You can use up to 3 levels to organize your program list.

To Add a Category

  • Select Add a Category at the level in the tree view you want to add a new category (ex. School ID or Category)
  • Enter Category Description (required)
  • Select Status (required) - select Visable
  • Your new category will appear in the tree view. Within this new category you can:
    • Edit
    • Add another category
    • Add a Program
    • Run Programs
    • Manage Questions
    • Delete

To Add a Program

  • Click Add a Program on the menu at the level where you want the Program to show
  • Enter the Program Name (required) - enter the name of the Program as you would want students and advisors to see it.
  • Enter the Status (required) - select Visable
  • Enter Degree (required) - This is the degree type (ex. Bachelor or Associate) that is used in the Search Program section of u.select
  • Select CIP Code - NOTE: If you don't select a CIP Code the program will not be available in Search Programs
  • Enter the Program Terms (required) - You may enter the year and month manually or select the terms from the calendar
  • Enter Program URL (required) - Directs the user to the URL with the program information
  • Enter Program Code (required) - Even though you do not need this code since you're not linking to a degree audit system, u.select still requires that you enter something in this field. We recommend that you enter in the program code used in your student information system, that way if in the future you do decide to use degree audits within u.select this information will not have to be added.
  • COM Table Override - DARwin users only. Leave this field blank.
  • Program Note (optional)
  • Click Save
Re-Index Programs

Once you have added all of your programs to u.select press the Re-Index Programs button on the Manage Programs page. This will save your programs to all of the u.select servers. The Re-Index process is also required if you want your programs to display in the Search Programs area.

Make Your Programs available to Students and Advisors

To allow students and advisors to see your programs go to:

  • Administration - Manage School Settings
  • Select Edit
  • Find the Display Flags section
  • On the Enable Programs option, change this to "Yes"
  • Click Save
