How could u.select help if I am a future college student who would like to plan my college path?

If you are a high school student or someone who simply wishes to attend college one day, u.select can help you plan.  Review the following areas to see what u.select can do for you:

Programs
As a future college student, you're probably wondering where to begin with u.select. You may not have college courses complete yet, and might not know which school or program to try. u.select provides the Programs area to see the courses and hours required to complete a program. This is good for determining what kinds of courses are required for certain programs (foreign language, math, sciences) and whether or not completing some of those courses at a community college first could be beneficial.

Search Programs
A great feature of the Programs area is the Search Programs function. If you know that you're interested in biology, but not sure which program specifically, or which school, use Search Programs. Simply select the state to search for the school, the category that the program would fall in, and optionally, a keyword to get more specific. The search will bring back schools in the state you selected with programs in the category specified. From there, you can click on the program and view the requirements.

Course Equivalencies
The Course Equivalencies area provides a wealth of information about the transferability of courses taken while in high school, as well as planning coursework at a community college prior to transferring them to a four-year university. Many institutions provide information about the transferability of Advanced Placement credit, PSEOP courses and Tech Prep.

Student Information Links

From within u.select, users can locate links to different student services available from the participating schools, such as Admissions, Registration and Financial Aid. Each school is responsible for providing these links, and the number available will vary.

You can use u.select as a planning tool for knowing which classes to take that will apply to your given program. u.select can also be used for obtaining information about the programs offered
