u.select is a degree audit - agnostic system. u.select works directly with your degree audit to provide program and transfer information via the web. u.select will work with most degree audit systems provided there is an interface available between the degree audit and u.select.
No matter what degree audit system you are using, you will need to be sure that it is an automated degree audit with transfer articulation. u.select does not house any degree audit or transfer articulation information within the system. This information all comes from your degree audit system on campus. For all degree audits, an XML interface will have to be installed to work with u.select.
Before you implement u.select, you will want to make sure that your degree audit and transfer articulation systems are fully functional. You will also want to discuss with the implementation team which programs and transfer articulation tables from the degree audit you want to display in u.select. Some schools choose to create special programs in their degree audit that are used solely for u.select.
If you are a DARwin or u.achieve school, you will want to review our DARwin for u.select document prior to subscribing to u.select. While not all of the encoding may need to be done prior to purchasing a subscription, your school may want to begin the process, or make sure there aren't any red flags that would be an issue.
