DARwin Audit Formatting Options

DARwin users have the ability to format their Plans using one of three different ways:

  • Default Format
  • Course Links Format
  • Interactive Audit Format

Click on the thumbnails below to see an example of each format.

Default Format

The Default Format is the standard format for DARwin Plans within u.select.

Course Links Format

Beginning with u.select release 4.1.2 you will have the option to include Course Catalog links within your DARwin generated Plans. Audits in this format also resemble the audit portion of the Interactive Audit.

To use this format, follow these two steps:

1. Add the Degree Audit Catalog URL within the Manage URLs area.
This URL will be used by u.select to create a link to your course catalog. The Degree Audit Catalog URL is comprised of the following portions:

  • URL to your school's online course catalog
  • <ddd> a placeholder for the department name
  • <nnn> a placeholder for the course number

To reduce the confusion involved with successfully defining this URL, let's use an example.
Suppose your school's course catalog is online at:

http://www.yourschool.edu/catalog

And a URL to the course description of English 111 is:

http://www.yourschool.edu/catalog/ENGL.html#111

The correct u.select Degree Audit Catalog URL needs to be:

http://www.yourschool.edu/catalog/<dddd>.html#<nnn>

2. Within DARwin, set COM value WEBOPTION to 2

Interactive Audit Format

The Interactive Audit is new to u.select. It requires extra encoding within your degree programs in order to populate the pie chart and bar graphs.

To find out more about how to set up and encode for the Interactive Audit please log in with your Support Center account.
