University of Houston Joins redLantern's u.select Network
OXFORD, Ohio - The University of Houston has chosen redLantern's online transfer advising tool, u.select (formerly CAS), to promote their institution to prospective students. By joining the u.select network the university will join over three hundred other campuses on this interactive transfer portal. u.select provides a tightly integrated network of participating schools' information and offers the ability for an institution to market their school to prospective students ultimately attracting more transfer students. Student users have access to an information portal which will assist them in making educated decisions concerning their academic career.
University of Houston chose u.select because it was highly recommended by other Texas schools and served as a solution to their Achieving the Dream initiative in Texas. This initiative is in connection with Houston Endowment and was formed in order to help more community college students succeed. "We are very excited to begin using u.select here at the University of Houston", said Stephen Webb, Director of Enterprise Systems Student Administration, "we believe this tool will help more and more students throughout Texas achieve academic success." Webb also added "UH was familiar with redLantern and their products, so when other schools asked us to join the network, there was no question, u.select was the product we wanted."
u.select provides valuable information on over twenty-one thousand programs from colleges across the country and boasts users from over one hundred and eighteen countries. "We are thrilled to have University of Houston join the u.select network." said Jason Elwood, President of redLantern LLC., "Participating in the network will allow the university to provide course specific information to transfer students across the state and surrounding areas."
The University of Houston is a four year institution that offers over 100 undergraduate programs and nearly 200 graduate degree programs, including some that rank among the nation's best. They have an enrollment of over 36,000. Additional information on University of Houston can be found at www.uh.edu .
